Life challenges

Re: Life challenges

@Hopeandlove @Till23 @Former-Member @Oaktree @rav3n @tyme

I love a good storm as well.  Sitting outside with the sound of the rain pelting down and the sky lighting up is somehow so comforting.  My favorite go to ola e though is lying down looking up at a bit dark night sky, just staring at all the stars.  Thinking about the distances and sizes and how all those little points of light I'm looking at is really how they looked years, to 1000s of years ago.  I used to do it a lot as a kid and it's always what I think about when I get stressed, upset, or overwhelmed.  There's just something about looking up at the universe that made me feel like I had a place I belonged... far more than anywhere I ever felt here on Earth.

Re: Life challenges

@Former-Member I enjoy reading books that are fantasy, stories where I can really get lost in the story.

Re: Life challenges

@MJG017 sitting outside in thunderstorms is the best. Laying under the night sky and staring at the stars is mesmerising.

It sounds that for you it's been such a powerful thing feeling that you belonged somewhere. You belong here and I'm glad to have connected with you 💙

Re: Life challenges

@Hopeandlove  Yeah it's great to escape into a good book. I love the horror genre, in books and movies, but I read many different genres.  🩵

Snuggles 🥰

Re: Life challenges

@Former-Member horror books and movies are great and I enjoy them also 🙂

loveee storms and the sound of rain too. gosh staring into the night sky is such an amazing feeling, right? i laid on a picnic blanket at the beach once and just admired the stars. the sound of the waves crashing, feeling at peace. had a blanket over me since it did get pretty cold. one of my favourite memories.

love a good fantasy novel!! books, movies, tv shows - always such a nice escape. books are nicer to escape in though, being able to have control of what places and people look like.

Re: Life challenges

Hey @Hopeandlove , just wondering. Are you happy to continue this chat here, or would you like a thread dedicated to celebrating you and your life?

We all want to be part of this journey.

Re: Life challenges

@Hopeandlove

I think it's just being in the middle of experiencing the power, beauty and awe of nature all around you that feels so wonderful.

As an adoptee I always had issues of not feeling like I fit in anywhere, so maybe that is where my lifelong love of space and astronomy comes from.

It has made such a big difference in my life to find places like here where I do feel welcome and valued, and able to make some real connections.

And while I'm sure we'd both really prefer to be somewhere else getting on with our lives, it is a privilege to sit you and keep you company with everyone else here.

Re: Life challenges

@rav3n I get the feeling that we all enjoy a good storm and the night sky.

Yes being in control of what things look like is what I love. I have a great imagination so find that I can add so much detail into what I'm reading and completely lose myself in the story.

Re: Life challenges

@tyme I'm happy to continue here. I don't think I could start another thread now. I don't want to clog the feed up with another thread of me, I understand it's alot to hear and I don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable having to read my story.
