Re: Good Morning!
Hi @Former-Member @Appleblossom & everyone,
Does what you suggest sound rational, . . well I think that's almost impossible
to answer - your basically rendering yourself 'homeless', but you can't afford
the home you have !?! I think these days there are many situations that simply
don't have a rational answer. What your talking about sounds adventurous,
courageous (particularly because you know it's hard, lonely & not safe) &
possibly exciting - but I wonder whether it would actually be financially better
or not. Even if your planning to just pull-up on the side of the road, or in free
parking spots, there are still practical things to consider. Your vehicle is going
to have a lot more wear-&-tear, can you afford repairs? What will you do &
where will you go, whilst those repairs are being made? You speak of pain, that
normally has a physical reason behind it, what will you do with your van if you
need to go to hospital? 6 months may be temporary, but it's a long time if
something goes wrong or your stranded. I'm sorry about the doom & gloom, my
natural thought & emotional process always leads me to 'worst case senarios'.
It could be wonderful, brand new places with all new experiences - & believe
me I know that feeling of 'what the hell, I'm just sittin' here waiting to end
anyhow!'. My 2 cents worth {which isn't really worth that 😉 } is that I'd suggest
you find an economical camping/caravan place & go there as a first step. Give
yourself the time to take a breath & gather your thoughts. Does you van have a
power source, your on some sort of electronic device to connect to this forum
& from one lonely person to another, I strongly suggest you don't lose that
connection. You can get portable solar kits, that I won't say are cheap, but they
are affordable. Does you van have bathroom facilities? There are portable
toilets, that have waste tanks that can be emptied at public RV sewage dump
sites. So my suggestion is, if you choose to take this journey, to take it in steps.
My thoughts would be to go to paid premises {most councils have economical
sites} & gather together finances, essentials & research for the next step.
But the truth is I think, if your thought & emotional process allows you to get
in that van & on that road . . . go for it girl!!!

Re: Good Morning!
Thanks @Clawde, not sure about brave, maybe. Are you doing ok?
Hi @Exoplanet - thanks for that straight talk, I need it cause as I said I'm all over the place and maybe a tad reactive. Many a mistake has been made in that place. The cardiac workup this week is probably a good indication of my health. How hard do we push ourselves, and s it wrong to be comfortable? All that packing certainly isn't being kind to myself. I can prioritise the 25wk extra rent (if i drop one of my enjoyable activities) just peeved about it but maybe the landlord's lost his job or his wife's got cancer, I can liver with it if I think he needs half my pension more than me. That the world we live in. I haven't actually done the maths on living rough - probably better if winding up in my box, do small roadtrip,, I donno. It's now or never I feel.
Survived my myocardial perfusion (heart scans / stress test this morning, nearly fainted though), they picked up a few ectopics but booked in for Holter Monitor Friday. Don't know when or why I became so claustrophobic with scans, found humming a song helped me relax. Oh well.

Re: Good Morning!
Sounds like there is still alot to work through about road trip. @Former-Member
I knew @Exoplanet would have great feedback.
If you are all over the place with it and doing medical tests, perhaps the 2 week deadline is artificial and hasty. Doing it gradually, pay the extra $25 for a bit. You probably need more than 2 weeks of calm preparation to make it viable ...
Its def not a bad idea though.
Hugs mate
