High Tea and Housewarming

Re: High Tea and Housewarming

Yeah I'm quite proud of myself @Bow .  Its been a huge job, but I set myself the task to get through it all by 3 weeks, and I got there.  I had everything I had in the small unit I was living in for the past 11 months, which was everything I use on a daily basis essentially. That was relatively easy. But then I had roughly 2/5th of my stuff still in a storage container, and that had to be combined with the rest.  Heaps of boxes, but also numerous large furniture items, such as an extra bedroom worth of furniture and a loungeroom worth of stuff, plus bookshelves etc.  I am back to having 3 bedrooms, plus study again.  Room for family, grandkids, etc when they come and visit.

Limited garden, mostly lawn, but scope to add to the garden if I choose.  But what is there, is easy care and low maintenance.  Yes several quiet spots in the yard where I can sit outside.  An alfresco off the living room which gets morning sun.  Then there is another North facing covered area which gets nice sun most of the day if I choose to seek it out.  That's where I am now.

And I have doggy doors!  Two of them, one out onto each of the outdoor areas I mentioned above.  The door fits a small to medium sized dog.  I saw my psych on Thursday, and she is going to help me find a new puppy.  She breeds dogs herself and knows other breeders who may have some puppies coming up soon.  My psych only has larger sized litters coming up for the rest of this year.

Hi. @Snowie hope you are well. Thank for the tag 💕💜💕.

Re: High Tea and Housewarming

Ahhh scones @Eve7  ... yummy.  I do love a good devonshire tea.  I have the tea, and looks like I am about to get the scones.  Perfect.  Probably what I need.  My GP roused on me when I saw him last week.  Told me I should be putting some weight back on, but I'm not.  ☹  Its not from lack of trying.  I am eating well enough, I think.  But I have been pretty active I suppose.  I am continuing to do hydrotherapy once a week with one physiotherapist and pilates once a week with another physiotherapist.  All part of my post surgery rehab.  I missed a couple of weeks with the move, but I was so busy those weeks anyway.  And yeah, maybe I missed a few meals.  Another scone @Eve7 😂🧡

Re: High Tea and Housewarming

Wow @Emelia8 you have gotten so much accomplished in such a small amount of time.

I love the fact that you have places in your garden that you can sit and have some 'me' time.

Selecting a dog is such a big decision. No doubt you will make the right one for you. I think getting a dog has been one of the best things we did for our family. At the moment she is asleep on my lap!!

Re: High Tea and Housewarming

Hi @Eve7, I had some matcha and ginger this afternoon, needed some caffeine for uni. What is your favourite tea? ❤️

Re: High Tea and Housewarming

@Eve7 I love scones especially with jam and cream! My nanna used to make the best scones and would always make some for us when we were little. I'm not sure what she put in her whipped cream, but it was super yummy!

Well done on making some

Re: High Tea and Housewarming

What footy are you watching @Snowie ?   I have my Swannies playing tonight.  And was disappointed to see my Canberra Raiders lose in golden point last night.

Yes it is a big decision Snowie.  Not getting a dog, as that's not a big decision at all.  I have to have a dog, have always had a dog.  Need a dog!  Its a given.  But I do want to get the right dog.  I have searched the local rescue places and they don't have anything.  And I mentioned it to my psych when I saw her this week, as she breeds Cobberdogs, a therapy dog.  But her dogs are medium to large in size.  But she has a colleague who breeds small to medium size similar (Theodore) dogs and she is going to get back to me with some options.  Its nice that she has offered to help, as I was kind of floundering a little.  Not knowing where to look next.

I have missed my little Holly so much since I lost her.  I envy you having your little dog asleep on your lap.  Adorable little thing.

Re: High Tea and Housewarming

My favourite tea is Lan Choo leaf tea @creative_writer but it doesn’t seem to be around much these days so I’ll settle for Twinings leaf tea in a proper tea pot. I’m super fussy about my tea lol

How are you today? Thanks for stopping by to see @Emelia8

Re: High Tea and Housewarming

More scones coming up @Emelia8  with lots of cream!! Sorry I can’t photos as my phone won’t let me make them small enough.

Re: High Tea and Housewarming

Watching Carlton and Westcoast @Emelia8

Brought up in VIC so it has always been the AFL in our household.

I hope you are able to find the perfect dog for you hon. It is so hard when we lose a dog, they really are a big part of our lives.

Always grew up having animals around me, so wanted the same thing for my kids.

@Eve7 that tea sounds nice. I'm not that fussy about my tea, but D is!
