@D1ng0 I'm far from ok at the moment. I'm happy to chat but I'm not sure I'm going to be particularly helpful for advice. I've never had to worry about telling anyone as I don't have any friends or family.

 

If I was in that position though I'd describe it as a type of OCD where a person experiences intrusive thoughts or images of hurting themselves which they fear they will act on and that leads to anxiety and compulsive behaviours.

 

Not sure if that's helpful, but that's the easiest way I could think of explaining it to someone.

Honestly, that's good advice. Maybe simple is the way to go.

Advice welcome, if anyone else comes across this thread and has insights into telling friends/family about living with Harm OCD 🙂 Or OCD in general.
