Re: Anyone want to chat

Hello @tyme . I'm completely exhausted and mentally not coping. But I'm here and I'm trying to just push through my thoughts and everything I'm feeling.

How are you going?

What's the difference between a peer support worker and a moderator then?

@avant-garde

A peer support worker both moderates (identifies and manages risk) and provides peer support, whereas a moderator identifies and manages risk but do not necessarily provide peer support or engagement.

Hope that clarifies things. Hence Peer support workers are around 10am-10pm. Moderators are on the evening and overnight when things a quiet.

Re: Anyone want to chat

@outlander , How's your recovery going? Feel better? I guess the third day after surgery is always a little harder? Have you been able to keep yourself occupied?

@Former-Member , glad you are able to connect with others on the forums. Hopefully you feel less alone.

Re: Anyone want to chat

its tough @tyme but going ok considering.
pain wise abit better but still needing some regular pain management.
getting comfortable is a challange. cant sit or stand for to long, getting up and sitting down is quite painful. the pressure and changes from all the gas and internal sutures are uncomfortable.
i went and sat outside for a while today, the sun was so nice but got hot quick. i am lucky that my new house is in a quiet area so was peaceful and i could see some of the little kids up the road just riding on their scooters .
i have been doing some scrapbooking today. i had a very bad pain day yesterday so spent most of the day in bed with pain relief or in a hot shower!
its been nice being able to spend some more time around the forums too. its so hard normally to be able to slow down but thi surgery is forcing me to rest and give myself a break.

Re: Anyone want to chat

@tyme it's nice being able to chat and keep myself distracted by doing so.

Re: Anyone want to chat

Awww @outlander , take care my friend. Rest up. And yes, I was going to say that it's so nice to see you around on the forums more (btw, I'm not saying for you to have more surgeries so you can be on the forums more!).

In a way, it seems like this is to give you time to step back and relax a little. You've always been on the go go go, caring for Pop and everything else. Time to look after yourself!

Re: Anyone want to chat

haha @tyme i dont think more surgeries would help lol but it is one way to get me to sit still for a while!
its been nice meeting some new members too and guiding them around.

yes exactly i never take time for myself or when i do its pressurised and i only have a certain amount of time. the next few weeks i am focussing on my own recovery.

Re: Anyone want to chat

And I think the beauty of it is that those on the forums are REAL people with REAL experiences... which means you aren't speaking to a bot! @Former-Member

(I know bots have their place, but so much nicer to speak to a human)
