Re: A Life of Trauma and Tragedy (Possibly Triggering Content)

I have to catch a train to Sydney in the morning. Leave home 9.15am and expected at the hospital for admission at 4pm. My spinal surgery will be on Wednesday. Getting pretty anxious about it now. But I think its a good thing I will be in hospital for the next week or more. Takes my mind off my little Holly. I have been waking up during the night panicky and disoriented because I dont feel Holly next to me. Its all really hard.

Re: A Life of Trauma and Tragedy (Possibly Triggering Content)

Hello @Emelia8

Support and Best Wishes for your travel and admission to hospital tomorrow.

My thoughts, prior to the surgery that I had, were to mentally and purposefully hand myself over to those people who were going to care for me during that process and the following recovery phase. While that can seem strange, it also gave me a sense of peace and relief.

It is great that you have a friend who will be with you as far as possible between the train and admission. I really hope that all goes smoothly for you tomorrow and over the next week or so.

With My Very Best Wishes

@Emelia8

You've got a big deal coming up Em - I will be thinking of you and I am pretty sure it will work out for you. It can't be easy though and also  - well - can anyone visit you there? Here in Melbourne we can't so I am pretty sure we will have to post  - we are your forum family after all

You did the right thing for little Holly  - I do know how tough it is  - my cat was 15 - we had all those years together and it was wonderful. I still have the little shrine I set up with her blanky, collar, catnip mouse, bowl and the card the vet sent - over three years ago

Holly was everything to you and you to her - love like that lasts forever

My thoughts, love and prayers Em
