The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Evening lil Sis @outlander 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜

I see you under the support button

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Sorry @Sans911 feel asleep last night.

Trust does take a lot of time and even more I think with those that we confide in.

I can totally understand how you feel about your psych. It is hard starting with a new one, it is like you are going back to the start of the marathon. Especially hard when you have to tell your whole story over again. So sometimes we think some one is better then no one.

I think it is important to have as many supports in place, especially at this time of year. When we lose a support it effects us more then we and others realise, especially if we have developed a good working relationship with that person.

It sounds like you made a huge impact on this support person. It is a shame you don't have that support still in place.

Six months is not long enough at all. I think it takes at least a few months (or maybe longer) to start trusting someone and then opening up to them. I know it took me at least 3 months to tell my psych about my childhood trauma and even longer to tell him about other traumas. Now that I have lost him, I am going back to the start of the race with a new psych. And I don't think it matters how many times you tell your "story", it doesn't seem to get easier.

But, I am glad you had this woman in your life hun, however short it was. If it made a difference in your life in a positive way, then it is worth it. And if it means that this is one of the reasons why you are still here today, then it is definitely worth it.

Gee I blabbered on just then!!

I hope that we both get more supports and consistent supports in place for next year as it does make a profound impact on how we deal day in day out with our MI.

Much love to you and anyone else who needs it.
