Thanks @rav3n . My life expectancy isn't great and I probably won't make it to my 60's. Some days I treasure each day as if it was my last other days i long for my journey to end so I can have some peace. But today I'm here, it's not my best day but I'm doing my best to make the most of it. Knowing people are here to support me is humbling and gives me the warm fuzzies. So thank you 💜

Welcome @I_am_scared
How are you feeling about receiving a diagnosis? I know that it can be confronting but that it can also bring a lot of clarity and understanding

Actually been telling the Doctors for years, something is not right with my thinking. I am not like other people. I see things differently. Some people told me to go for ASD as I was presenting those symptoms and was a huge relief to finally get an answer, it took a hospital to say it. I ended up in the Mental Hospital, actually got so frustrated with the small town Doctors and did try to commit suicide. Told Ambulance Officer, if you leave me here, you are allowing me to die, I have had enough. I am in a DV household with my ex, trying to get out of here with Government Housing as there is rental crisis. Police have been here 3 times, ex, finally now leaves me alone. Been abused from my mother as a child right through to an adult, which is the criteria for BPD and finally after a year, my Psychologist diagnosed me with BPD, the mental hospital called me a voluntary patient as I was trying to get into there. Not a place you want to go to. Never been to hospital under this criteria, but I was fighting for my life and kept telling them, you send me home, I go home to die. They treat you differently being voluntarily lol. It was the most scariest place I have been in. Kept to myself. As I was wheelchaired into the areas, there was no doorknobs, only key cards for access, in and out and eerily felt like I was going into a prison, never been in a prison or visited one. Everything was nailed down, perspex, no glass, everything smooth. The TV was in a box behind perspex too, That was the beginning over 2 years ago to get the right diagnosis for me

It sounds as though it's been a really long and difficult road to getting this diagnosis @I_am_scared
I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been knowing that there was something, but not being heard.
I'm glad that you've found this space to connect, and hopefully you will feel heard and supported here.
P.S. just a handy tip for the forums - if you want to reply to someone you can tag them by pressing the "@" key which will bring up a list of names. Click on the one you want and it should come up blue like this: @Jynx Tagging people just makes sure they're notified that you've responded
