Women's health (TW)

Re: Women's health (TW)

@avant-garde @outlander @Dimity @Jynx

Feeling overwhelmed and shocked

- registration of still borns not compulsory until 1996

- only record of relative who was still born in early 1960’s is birth notice by her parents in local newspaper

- before I was born in early 1960’s, my mother was told by clairvoyant she was having twins

- only ‘scan’ taken whilst my mum was pregnant was X-ray when she was approx 5mths

- I was 2 days old before my mum saw me due to her being heavily sedated during those days

- folder stapled shut then stapled to my medical folder at family doctor.
- my mum repeatedly told by different doctors, info in the folder was nothing for her to worry about and nothing to do with me

If had no connection to me, why was it stapled inside cover of my medical folder …….  🤔🤔

appears I had a twin who was still born and my parents didn’t know 😢😢

@Patches59 oh hun

*sitting with you*

Re: Women's health (TW)

That's so hard to hear @Patches59 . Not sure if that's the overreach of a paternalistic medical profession. I guess you came to know somehow, but it would be a heavy burden. I'm glad your mother treasured you.

Re: Women's health (TW)

Thanks @Glisten

The other issue is finding someone who Bulk Bills.

I have an appointment tomorrow with a female GP that looks promising 🤞🏻

Re: Women's health (TW)

Oh wow @Patches59 that's so heavy. Always rough getting news like that hey, where it's like.... maybe nothing can be done, but there's still a LOTTA feels to feel.

How are you travelling this arvo?

Re: Women's health (TW)

@ficklewind  I’m interested to know how your appointment goes. Please fill me in when you get a chance?

Re: Women's health (TW)

Prior back pain + first day of period = glad I have female chiro (hopefully my usual is back and I don't get the one from last week)

Re: Women's health (TW)

@avant-garde  female reproductive organs- the gift that keeps on giving.

Re: Women's health (TW)

@Glisten yep. Gotta love it right?

Re: Women's health (TW)

@avant-garde  I was having a conversation with my daughter in her kitchen, about the affects of menopause.

She turned and looked at me and said, “You mean it never stops!”.

😂

No. Welcome to the life of a woman. Tada 🎉
