I don't know how to get better
Sick of waking up feeling the same numb feelings and hating myself in every way

A warm welcome to our forums and im sorry to read that you are feeling so low today. It sounds like you have been struggling with mental illness for a while.

Do you have support people you can talk to and are you engaged with any mental health professionals?

You will find understanding and supportive discussion here on the forums. Many members have felt what you are expressing tonight. Tell us a bit more about your situation.

Hi dkl. You also sound terribly alone and lonely. Have you been fighting alone long? You really need support and understanding. Froginthepond suggested Lifeline and Beyond Blue as two possible sources where you could get more support. Have you thought about phoning a crisis support team (I think perhaps your own Dr may have info regarding these care units). Maybe you have access to a home-visit Dr who could suggest hospital care till you feel stronger.

It's no good when you think there is nothing you can do around how you feel over and over everyday and that you're hating yourself.

 

Please let us know if you would like to learn resources out there that can assist like @pip and @Former-Member suggested. Many members here are very resourceful and tried a number of different things. The good thing is people share what worked or what didn't work for them so others can pick up new ideas.

 

At the same time, some may feel their sense of hopefulness goes up and down on a daily basis and I hope you'll be able to find some connections by reading some posts here. Please try to type `feeling numb' or `hating myself' on the search bar and you'll be able to see lots of stories people shared come up. 

 

Take your time and don't be harsh on yourself. What you're perceiving the world and yourself are getting in your way to see things from other angles at the moment. I'm sure there were times you could see things differently too.
