My Mosaic

Re: My Mosaic

And I’ve stayed out of bed @Snowie  although now just having a rest in front of the fan on my bed.
It does help to build rapport…. Just spending time together and chatting. Still a long way to go though.

Hope your day has continued to be ok.:ok_hand:

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah we picked which hotel we wanted to stay at at legoland @rav3n @and it does say that you get a small Lego gift on arrival! D and I will be fighting over that!

I did wonder about the Lego they have in the rooms to play with and what percentage of it goes missing.

oh those nails are very pretty! Are your nails that long too?? I have never understood how women have these crazy long nails and how they do anything?
I use to get my nails done all the time years ago. But it ruined my nails. I just do them myself now.

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow wow I went to grab some super glue last night, a tiny tube at Coles was like $8!! I can get a triple pack for like $5 if I go to a cheapo store - you get yours in bulk, or it burn a hole in your pocket?

Know what I do to motivate my foggy lil brain into the shower is to pop some tunes on!! Or sometimes a podcast or something! Does make it hard to get out sometimes but it definitely makes the whole process seem to go more quickly.

I mean... personally I think the WHOLE santa business is silly, and ought to be retired for some new traditions - for the reason you mention, and because like... why did we collectively decide as a society to lie to our children for the duration of their most important formative years? 😅

Ahaha that's cute as, like a little elvish peek-a-boo! You clever thing you!

lol nope! No glue yet, because I keep fiddling with it.... this is where it's at now - I like the llittle vertabra addition, however now the gemstone is less vibrant/less of a feature. Idk, what do you think?

Also - this is where I plan to hang it!! In the middle of the branch:

Re: My Mosaic

Kmart have a 5 or 6 pack of little super glue for $2! @Jynx  I only just discovered them though, but I always get the multi packs from cheap shops for a few dollars.

I am pleased to report that I have had a shower today! I felt really ashamed that it had been so long and was really concerned when my SW came, but just felt really gross. Can’t let it go that long anymore. I still didn’t wash my hair though. That’s been a couple of weeks now.

Haha yes I get you! All the lies… Santa, Easter bunny, tooth fairy.

I do like the gem down the bottom. And where you’re going to put it looks heaps cool!  It’s that all your dried flowers you have done?

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow we keeping those glue salesman in business!! 😂

Yay you did it!! Hope it has left you feeling fresh.

You know I only wash my hair like once a month? I used to have suuuper greasy hair so I would wash it every day or every other day (but by the second day it was sooo gross). I found out that it's actually a vicious cycle!! Shampoo strips our hair of all its natural oils, then we use conditioner to put em back. Because our scalp is having its oils scrubba-dubbed so often, it starts to cope by producing more and more oils to compensate, which is why after 24 hours my hair would get alll gross and slick again. Wasn't till I got dreadlocks I was able to break the cycle 😅

Sooooo really, you're actually just being super kind to your scalp! Also *gets on high horse* all these 'rules' about hygeine can be helpful guidance, but ultimately are merely social constructs and not every rule suits every person's body; no one should be shamed for caring for their body in the ways that suit them!!

Hmm gem down the bottom eh? Good looking out!! Yeah thems the dried flowers! Well, most of em are fake lol but managed to like, pilfer the best lil bits (and now have a small stash of flowers and greenery I need to do something with!) and spent entirely too long colouring in some of the stems. I do love getting lost in flowy hyperfocus mode when there's minutae to fuss over!

Re: My Mosaic

For sure I am…. And Kmart frame people @Jynx ! I go in and buy them by the box full.

I only ever use to wash my hair twice a week..:. Figured that was a good routine for my hair. But my hair is falling out a lot… consequences of my ED and poor intake…. Or/and age. But I find it very distressing. Even brushing it comes out heaps. So I avoid both as much as I can. I haven’t coloured my hair in months cause again it falls out a lot, but I want to do it before we go away…. If I’m brave enough! But Urgh I hate it. Very depressing.

but yes, dreadlocks would be great for the struggle with hair washing. Do you still have dreadlocks?
my head use to itch mad when it was time for my hair to be washed…. But don’t really notice it anymore thankfully.

I like all the flowers and stuff hanging down. They look heaps cool. Do you like to collect bits and pieces when your out exploring?

I have a friend that is forever sending me beautiful pics of art made from stuff… she sent this one today 😍

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow ooo exciting, love lil gifts!! yeah i was thinking the same... i wonder if there's anyone who's responsible for doing a 'lego count' at the hotel.

my nails are slightly shorter than the one in the picture. this time was actually the longest i've gotten them done - to be honest, i realised only after the nail tech shaped my nails that they were too long so i felt bad for asking her to shorten it again 😅 you should see the nail length some of my friends get done... it's like double the length from that picture. i have no idea how they survive with that length. ahh yep i hear you with nail damage, pretty cool you can do it from home (and saving yourself $$). have you used builder gel before?

Re: My Mosaic

Haha yep @rav3n  or someone to gather it all up and weigh it. Oh… 100gms is missing today!

I enjoy doing my nails, but I’m forever buying new colours! I actually have builder gel on my nails at the moment. Trying to master that technique.

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow aww that is so rough!! Hair is important!! Especially when we wanna make it funky colours!

I don't have dreads anymore, shaved em off like 4-5 years ago!! Made the mistake of dyeing them green - which is the WORST colour to try to get rid of. But try I did - with bleach! Annnnd that damaged them enough that they all started breaking and falling out anyway 😅 TBH though, unironically, dreadlocks could be helpful for hair loss? Basically because even if the individual hairs fall out, they're still locked into the dread! Lol would you?

I am ALWAYS collecting bits and pieces!! I even have a patch on my punk jacket that says 'Forever collecting dead things' haha. I'm like a magpie! If it's shiny or an interesting shape, INTO THE POCKETSES IT GOES, PRECIOUS 😝

Oh wow that is GORGEOUS!! The amount of planning and patience to get all the stones to fit so perfectly, my gosh!

Aww yay, so much festivity to be had!!

Re: My Mosaic

I hated my hair growing up @Jynx and just when I start to like it and appreciate it, it starts falling out! My hair was so thick, some natural curls that I was starting to embrace and I was sticking with my natural colour finally… just covering the greys!

I don’t think I could do dreadlocks.

you know I follow this person on TikTok, they have green hair, facial piercings and they are heaps qwerky and every time they pop up I’m like there’s jynx!

I love that you are always collecting things and what’s on your jacket! I read this post ages ago…. That a mum would empty her son’s pockets before putting his clothes in the wash and she would put whatever was in his pockets into a big glass jar. She gave him the jar on his 18th birthday.  Were you like that as a kid?  I’m amazed what I find still in my D’s pockets once it’s been through the wash! There’s actually a couple of pieces of Lego in the bottom of the wash basket cause I’ve been too lazy to take them out!

glueing all that down would be a nightmare!
