Winter solstice

Re: Winter solstice

Can you request that cleaner all the time? @Dimity

I guess with Anzac Day that means you won't have a cleaner for another month? 😣

I overdid it last week so am having a slow day today.

Re: Winter solstice

I'm not sure if I can request a particular cleaner @NatureLover . I believe they're short staffed. And won't be working Anzac Day. I seem to have been allocated Fridays. So yes a month's gap.

I've lost track of what I was doing with decluttering.  I'll have to start again.

Re: Winter solstice

Sorry you now have a month's gap in the cleaning.

Work yesterday was exhausting. I really need to do extra days to catch up, but I'm not going to - I need to rest.

Today I have the GP for my annual diabetes tests. I will try and do some tidying in the afternoon.

Off to see your thread...

@Dimity

Re: Winter solstice

Take it easy @NatureLover . It's OK if you're not up to doing much after your stressful gp visit.

I'm tired too, not sure why but could partly be reaction to Sunday's social event. My closest friend/family member is about to go overseas for a month and I'll miss them. I guess I'm feeling more needy than I used to.

I'll try to make the most of the afternoon,  having written off the morning.

Re: Winter solstice

Thanks for your kind words, @Dimity , and for remembering that going to the GP is stressful (germs).

Is your closest friend / family member going to be contactable when they're away?

I've been lying down, doing watering and laundry, and chatting to the neighbours this morning / afternoon. Doubt I'll get much tidying done now (it's 3.20pm) but I have tomorrow at home apart from a car service.

It's funny - I start winding down just as I assume you start winding up for the day! 😂

It's a beautiful afternoon - I hope you enjoy your walk if you go.

Re: Winter solstice

Yes today I only got going in the afternoon @NatureLover . But I got a bit done. Chores, garden,  decluttering.  Not a lot and not for long but better than nothing.

No I won't be in touch with the travellers while they're away.

Car services can be expensive.  I hope it's a routine one and they don't find any problems.

I didn't walk until twilight,  then just to the shops. I wasn't in the garden for long either. I'm starting to get bored with my usual walk so need to try heading in different directions. A couple of years ago a helper took me to some nature reserves. She was good actually,  and helped me declutter and deal with some of the stuff stored elsewhere. It would be nice to have that sort of help again.

Tomorrow i have a very long delivery window for groceries. I hope I can fit in a walk.

Good luck if you're tidying. I'll try to do some too.

Re: Winter solstice

Well done on your chores, gardening and decluttering yesterday, @Dimity .

I'm sorry your best friend will be uncontactable for a month while away 😣

Are there any nature reserves close enough to walk to?

I've lost track of your helpers a bit...what happened to the good helper who took you to the nature reserves?

I think my car service will be routine 🤞

I'm just doing lots of laundry at the moment. It's another gorgeous day. I hope your groceries come in time for you to walk before dark 🤞

Re: Winter solstice

I did a big lot of laundry too @NatureLover then went for a midday walk along a different route to usual.

I think that was my first helper. She was only working in support until her overseas qualifications were recognised. The first and the best.

Are you planning on tidying? I'll try to get some done this afternoon.

Re: Winter solstice

Sorry she moved on, your first and best helper, @Dimity . 😥

Was the new route good?

I haven't done any tidying for a few days. Now I have 3 days at home, yay! So I have no excuses.

How did you go with your tidying?

Re: Winter solstice

3 days at home sounds good @NatureLover . Safe and peaceful.

Yes the walk was a change of scene. If I start walking s lot further I can go other places too but I'm sure I can manage it.

I've been churning through some stationery and files, tidying-wise, and haven't made much difference. But  I guess clearing a filing cabinet drawer means I'll now be able to move other stuff out of sight.

I'll have to water today. It's so dry.
