I know it's Tuesday afternoon but I could relate to 

@@avant-garde counting bricks... Similar but different....I was triggered by an aggressive controlling conductor but we were rehearsing in an old heritage building with an ornate cornice. I would move my eyes from the music on the page to the cornice, meditate on that moving my eyes along.... But definitely not Look at the Conductor. I was in mama bear fury. He had blocked, bored and pushed my son out. I was there a couple years later, trying to do something thing creative and understand my son's circumstances. Glad I persevered but it took will power and self control.
